Oh hello there, October! Friends, I don’t know about you, but October is one of my FAVORITE months of the year! Fall is officially here, and my heart is happy and leaping for joy. Although it is still in the 80s some days where I am, I will take the cold mornings and evenings! Before long, it will be sweater weather all the time, and I very much look forward to it. Bring on all the bonfires, sweaters, boots, hayrides, S’mores and more! I did not get the chance to do a goals post for last month due to being so busy, but here are my goals from August!
I probably made tiny baby steps of progress from these goals over the last 2 months, which is pretty good. I am hoping to keep making steady progress with my monthly goals as time presses on. I recently dropped down to a part-time student instead of full-time because of my job(s). Maybe now that I have a little breathing room, I can keep up with them. The last few weeks have been pretty crazy, and panic attacks have been a normal occurrence.
Having two jobs is temporary, and I will be back down to one job in a couple weeks. But for now, managing them and school is a bit overwhelming. I am trying to get better at coping/managing overwhelm when it happens, but sometimes it feels impossible at that present moment. But, it will get better with time. For now, let’s make some new goals to focus on, and recap the ones from August!
AUGUST GOALS | PERSONAL REVISITED:
- Make progress in becoming a healthier + more fit me.
Get things in order + organized for classes starting back.-I did this for sure. I’ve been in classes for almost 2 months now and so far, everything is pretty organized!
Practice getting up earlier.
-As much as I hate this part, I have had to get up at 6:15 every morning to get ready for class + get to campus to get parking.
Enjoy the last few weeks before life gets crazy.-Most definitely! I am definitely looking forward to enjoying Fall Break, even though it is only 2 days. In college though, two days can make a HUGE difference!
Get rid of all the gosh darn gnats in my house.
-This was such a long process, but we did finally get rid of the gnats! After much bleach in drains and gnat traps!
AUGUST GOALS | BLOG REVISITED:
Post more on IG stories.I have done this a few times, so that it progress! Still not completely in the habit of using it, but one day I will remember to!
- Be more proactive on Pinterest + grow.
-I haven’t done this but maybe once. I can spend hours on Pinterest, so it’s hard for me to even start ha.
Create content in advance.
-I have been pretty good about doing this lately, and hope that the trend sticks! It makes life much much easier when I do this!
Create new freebies for my email list-I definitely did this one, & am excited! I recently switched email providers, and that went amazing! If you haven’t yet & want to, sign up here for the newsletter!
Get a few more people to sign up for a Fall recipes series.
-I had enough for the series, and that was super duper fun and I can’t wait to try some new recipes this month for Fall! Yay!
Whenever you make any kind of progress–small or big–celebrate those small victories! You put in a lot of work with the things that you do, and achievements deserve to be celebrated whenever you make strides toward your goal. If you accomplished writing one blog post for the week, celebrate that accomplishment! If you aced a test, celebrate that! Whatever it is that you have accomplished, celebrate that fact that it happened. Since we are now in a new month, we have the chance to start over and create new goals that we aim to accomplish. If one, a few, or all of those get accomplished, celebrate that achievement!
OCTOBER GOALS: PERSONAL
- Figure out ways to better manage stress + anxiety.
-Stress & anxiety are huge roadblocks for me. They’re something I struggle with on a daily basis, and I don’t always deal with them in a healthy way. I want to figure out new + better ways to cope when I get stressed and anxious.
- Start going to bed earlier to get more rest.
-I am the world’s worst at procrastinating. Even on sleep! So, I want to try to make a habit of going to bed early when I can so I can give myself a little more rest to be a happier, healthier, more rested version of myself.
- Research more about college degrees to find a good one to suit me.
-Right now, I am not completely satisfied with what I am doing and am looking into alternatives. I have had at least 5 different majors, and none of those so far are super exciting for me. So, hopefully I will be able to find something suitable.
- Host a few bonfires with family & friends!
-My husband and I built our own firepit recently & had some friends over for a bonfire. It was a success, and I definitely want to do it more often!
- Make a date night jar for the hubby & I!
-I have always thought that those were such a neat idea, and I have yet to create one of my own. I hope to do that soon, because having date nights once a month is such a needed thing in marriage! And, the jars make it fun and surprising for date nights because you never know what you’ll draw!
OCTOBER GOALS: BLOG
- Research about blogging courses + take one!
-I am aiming to be a full-time blogger, and need to learn all I can about how to make that happen and be successful. So, this month I am planning on researching about the best ones to do.
- Research how to do better with affiliate marketing & start making money.
-This is so hard, and I didn’t realize how difficult affiliate marketing would be. So, I am aiming to learn some tips + tricks to make it better.
- Look into getting a content management system to better manage my time + resources.
-Let’s be real. Marketing is HARD. Content Management Systems such as CoSchedule, make this process a little bit easier and much less time consuming. I am hoping to get something to help me market myself better and more effectively very soon.
- Make a list of improvements that I can make to the blog for it to be better.
-I am always looking for ways to improve this space to make it more user-friendly and engaging. I hope to make a list of things/ways I can improve on.
- Work on planning out blocks of time each day to dedicate to working on the blog.
-This is an area that I struggle in right now, is time management. So, my goal is to block off certain amounts of time each day to spend on the blog. Whether that is writing, updating things, or social media promotion.
This month brings about lots of worthwhile goals that I sure hope I can get through. At least some of them! It is always nice when I can accomplish the goals that I set out to do. And, when that happens, I celebrate the accomplishment no matter how big or how small it is. It gives me motivation when I accomplish one thing, and also gives me the confidence I need to try and accomplish the rest. Don’t be afraid to give yourself a little extra love to accomplish your goals.
Q 4 U:
How do you motivate yourself to accomplish the goals you set for yourself?
I motivate myself with pep talks saying that I can do it, and that the goal is totally worth setting out to do. Have a happy Wednesday, friends!
