ALT Happenings | Life Update + Life Lately

It has been what feels like ages since I last did one of these. I am over here doing a happy dance that it is FRI-YAY and we have officially hit the weekend. Anyone else with me!? It’s insane that it is already March (almost the end at that)! This year is already flying by so fast and I am struggling to keep up. If you haven’t noticed, I have been hard at work updating things on the blog. If it seems like I do that a lot, it’s because I do. Ya girl here, has a major problem with indecision and I change my mind faster than you can say “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious“. Thankfully I finally think I am at a point that I have satisfaction with my overall design and feel now. So, that would be the reason I have slacked. Plus, any time you get into designing something, there are bound to be frustrations that arise. In my case, that happened often. But, It’s all good now. 

 

PERSONAL LIFE:

Lately for me, life has been a bit steady and overwhelming at times. This past Monday, my husband and I celebrated our second wedding anniversary and celebrated last Saturday by going on a train excursion from here in Chattanooga to Chickamauga, GA to see the battlefield. It was so good to spend the day with my husband! We don’t get to see each other much except for the evenings, because of my crazy work schedule. So, days where we get to go outside and have an adventure are always enjoyable. 

In addition to that, my husband and I are prepping for a week long vacation to The Big Apple in just a few days and I am beyond excited! I’ve never been to NYC before, so this is extremely exciting for me. I have been looking forward to this trip for a couple months now, and to think it’s finally almost here has my just leaping for joy. Hopefully soon, I will have even more exciting things to share, because there’s lots happening behind the scenes that I can’t talk about just yet.   

BLOGGING LIFE:

My blog life has been a little all over the place. Some weeks are good, and others aren’t, and that’s okay. I still have a part-time job, so consistency is very difficult sometimes. But, I have been working really hard on updating it, planning out content, and coming up with a more consistent plan that works for me. Posting only once a week seems to be working really well for me.

I am very excited about the future of this blog, and I plan on still pursuing my dream of one day going full-time with it. But for now, it is still a steady process and I still need a side hustle to sustain it. Did you know that I created a resource library for my email subscribers!? ALT CURRENTLY:

WISHING THAT» The weather would go ahead and warm up. I am ready for warmer days! Here, it’s been bouncing between the 40s and 60s the last few weeks so I am still wearing both winter and spring clothes. 

WATCHING» Cold Case. I used to watch this show back before Netflix and Plex, and forgot how much I loved it! I am almost through watching the second season, and I’ve been watching a little over a month. Trying to pace myself for my vision’s sake haha.  EXCITED FOR» Our trip to NYC! It’s always been a dream of mine, so the fact that my husband has made this a reality for me is just amazing. I am literally counting down the days! WAITING FOR» Our laundry room reno to be underway! My amazing father-in-love is making us some much needed shelves and we are putting them up real soon! Then I can get some baskets and cute laundry room decor!   

THANKFUL FOR» My sweet cats, Princess & Sasha. They truly bring me so much joy every day. Good days, and bad ones. 

DREAMING UP» Lots of ideas for the blog and our house. We’ll be in our house 2 years in September, and everything is slowly coming together!

DRINKING UP» All the coffee. Currently, my go-to blend in the morning is this one a friend got me from Cafe Du Monde.

HAPPY THAT» God has provided solid amazing friends for me that encourage me and spur me forward even when things are hard. 

If you’re anything like me, I am super thrilled to say bye bye to this week and hello to the next one! Next week, I’ll be jet-setting away! But don’t worry, I’m bringing my laptop with me so I can still write.
